California employers are legally required to provide their employees work and working conditions that are healthy and safe. Employers must put in place whatever practices and safeguards are necessary to provide healthy and safe work and working conditions to their employees. That may include providing health and safety equipment to employees, depending on the type of work and workplace.
California employers are prohibited from requiring their employees to perform work, or to work at a workplace, that is unhealthy or unsafe. They are also prohibited from punishing or retaliating against employees for expressing concern about, or reporting, unhealthy or unsafe working conditions. If your employer violated these laws, we may be able to take legal action to get you compensated for damages you’ve suffered.
